Jag behöver göra mig glad igen.

Lägg av med att vara emo, du. Du är hemma! Du borde vara jätteglad.

Ooh this is a “Swedish Shakti mat”? I thought this was a doormat when I saw it at the store…hm. Apparently it’s a sort of acupuncture thing.
I should look at these once I come back in a few weeks.

Swedish Christmas words! They’re still missing a lot though.

This was an ad that played on Spotify & seriously its so happy & upbeat it makes me smile, so I had to share it.

Oh my gosh I love this commercial. I know most people won’t understand it, but it’s pleasant sounding anyway, huh?!

Det är dags för fredagsmys = It’s time for “fredagsmys” (Fredagsmys is on Friday when you eat treats like candy, chips, etc and light candles, watch movies, hang out with friends/family, etc. I’m pretty sure it’s a combination of the words “fredag” for friday and “mysig” for cozy).

Swedish video, oh yeaaaah.

I should have just started rambling because this doesn’t contain as much Swedish as I hoped. Oh well.

Svenska video coming up.

I tried to get everyone’s suggestions in there, but I missed the last ones from doesn’tmattermuch (idk your proper name, girl!) so next time I make one I’ll talk about sj and kö and other sounds like that :] Ohhh I should have done the tongue twister sjuttiosku sköna sjuksköterskor skötte sju sjösjuka sjömän på skeppet i Shanghai! Dang. Next time, next time.

Also, I got a lovely formspring <3 You’re too sweet whoever you are.

You are lovely and awfully cute. If you lived over here I’d ask you to dance.

Suggestions for what to say in Swedish?

I want to do a video post of myself speaking/trying to teach people some Swedish, but I’ve got no ideas expect reading the back of my new book haha. Lame. Sooo yeah if you’ve got any ideas or things you want to know in Swedish, let me know?

Christmas shopping almost complete!

I finally got Jordan’s gift situated and I’m so relieved! I knew I wanted to get him a Swedish football kit or scarf, but they’re hard to come by around here for any reasonable price. Even at online shops the prices were ridiculous and not all the shops had the best reviews. Finally I just checked eBay for probably the 5th time and BAM. One vintage Swedish football jersey and for a great price! I bought it right away and I know it’ll be at home by Christmas. Score one for being an excellent girlfriend.

I don’t mind that I’m talking about it here because Jordan knows as I had him measure himself to ensure the size was correct. He still doesn’t know about his other gift though and I’ve gotta say…it’s amazing.

I also bought this as a gift for myself.
It’s the 3rd book in the Millennium series and in English it’s called “The Air Castle that Blew Up.” In Swedish, an “air castle” or “luftslott” is the word for “pipe dreams.” However, the actual published English title is “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest” (who knows why this is changed) but it isn’t available in the US until May. So, it made sense to buy it in Swedish and make it my official Christmas break book. I’m so excited to finish the series!

“American Boys” - Name the Pet

It’s good party music imo. I need to go download her album later because she did a great job at the concert.

Someone at work told me about this xmas logo for Locum, a swedish property management company. It was two years ago and apparently it ran everywhere.

Oh, geez. You think someone would have noticed!

I can’t believe this movie is already coming out when the 2nd one, The Girl Who Played with Fire/Flickan som lekte med eld, only just came out a few months ago. I still haven’t seen that film (none of my friends will go with me -sigh-). Actually, I haven’t read this book yet either (it’s not available in the US just yet but the title is “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest”) so I need to get on that over Christmas break so I can see it after I return to Sweden.
At least this means I’ll be able to buy all the dvds before going home again in June!
If you’ve never heard of this series and you’re into thrillers/mysteries, I highly recommend it.
