There is so much freakin' snow.

I am up way too early but I was kind of excited to see what we had and I guess it hasn’t stopped since about 9pm last night.

Of course this happens the day before I leave on holiday and the day I need to go into town for shopping.

Thank goodness I’m leaving Wednesday. I am FREEZING right now. Well, mainly because I just walked and biked home from town but still. It’s too cold, guys.

So. This is julmust [yule-moost] and it is delicious. I’m drinking some right now, actually!
I had never heard of it before coming to Sweden, so I need to share it’s amazingness with everyone else. It’s a special Christmas carbonated beverage (it’s also sold at Easter though) that kind of takes like coke, but it’s got a bit of an edge to it. It’s difficult to explain. On Wikipedia, it says this:
“Must is made of carbonated water, sugar, hop extract, malt extract, spices, caramel colouring, citric acid, and preservatives. The hops and malt extracts give the must a somewhat beer-like taste, but much sweeter and, since it is not fermented, it contains no alcohol.”
Which is weird because I really don’t like the taste of beer. I’m pretty sure many non-Swedes hate this drink, but if you ever get the chance to try it, you should give it a chance. I’m pretty sure they sell it at IKEA right now or at some where like Cost Plus.

I think it’s very cool that you currently live in Sweden! I’ve always wanted to go to Sweden, and I even tried to learn Swedish one summer! I really love your blog, and I hope you have a good day! - shawnalately

I’m digging all these Sweden replies! More people should like Sweden tbh.

You should try to come here one day. It’s beautiful, there’s plenty to do, and the people are great. And that’s cool you tried to learn Swedish once! Why’d you give it up? I understand it can be a bit challenging, especially if you’re learning on your own, but if you like it, you should give it another go :] And thank you <3 I really enjoy your tumblr as well!

That’s in 30 minutes! This better happen. I want some snow, dang.
However, I don’t know where they got 29F from. I just looked at current temp and it lists it at 16…hm.

I wasn’t going to answer these until later, but someone else needed some inspiration on studying so I figured I’d get to these really quick :]

keep calm and carry on.

Thank you. I am stressing a bit, but I need not worry. I’ve got 5 practice exams to look at with all the answers and I’m using those to study. Plus, if I fail, there are still other chances to retake the test! Why am I worried again?

no more procrastinating!!
heehee jk.
what’s your ethnic background?

Ah, I’m trying not to! I promise.

But I’m mostly English, as well as 1/8 Finnish, plus some portions French, German, and I more recently found out Spanish. People always seem to think I’m Asian though. My sisters’ friends claimed me to be “frasian” or “french asian” haha.

I think you’re a cutie pie and I love your FUCK YES SWEDEN attitude lol

Haha aww thank you. You’re too sweet <3 And I’m glad someone doesn’t mind that attitude…I have a feeling it probably gets old pretty fast, but I just love Scandinavia a lot and Sweden is a great place to live despite what Swedes might say. Plus, I really love speaking Swedish.

What motivates you? I need to find something lol.

Ah, I don’t know to be honest. I just know the exam is at 9am on Saturday and I’m in my “oh fuck” panic mode. I just turned on some good studying music, laid out my books, and got to it…slowly, but surely.

I’m laughing at this dress being called the “niotillfem dress” after Sandra’s fashion blog, as well as the resulting description.
“There may be no train to Stockholm, but you can certainly look like a swank, Swedish fashionista when you don this frock, suggestive of 1950’s and early 1960’s forms.”
To be honest, I don’t think this style is really “it” right now with the Swedish fashionistas, but what do I know.
I keep looking at this dress and I’m not sure if it’d be cute on anyone or if it just reminds me of first grade when my mom used to dress me in dresses like this with matching hair bows.

Hello. I read your description on your Tumblog, and I was wondering what you mean by studying abroad in Sweden, because I’ve been thinking about doing a similar thing. I’d really like for it to be somewhere in Scandanavia, preferably Sweden. What exactly do you do, if you don’t mind me asking.

p.s. Thanks for the reply on that college blog I posted about U of O, I never got a chance to get back to you. :)

Hey! Well, I moved to Sweden from the US to study at a Swedish university for a whole academic year, although I had the option to study for one semester as well. I live in my own apartment that I arranged through the school (I’m welcome to find my own however if I felt like it), I go to class a few times per week, and I hang out with friends pretty much haha. Some people take Swedish language courses, but I personally don’t because of my current Swedish skills. Ummm what else. Because class isn’t as often as say it is during high school or regular university, it leaves a lot of open time to get out and see the country or travel to other places, although I haven’t done much of that unfortunately. I don’t know what else to say about what I do here, but if you have other questions, you can always let me know!

And no problem :]
