My thesis prospectus is done and it is kickass. I can’t wait to share it all with you next term when it fully forms into my completed thesis project.

Possibly my first all-nighter of the year as I continue to rework my thesis prospectus again and again. I doubt I will ever be satisfied, but I have 15 more hours until I have to let it go. For now.  I just want to make sure I cover all possible pitfalls so people can’t poke holes in why my project would possibly fail. (Which, it really can’t — I’ve gone over it so many...

Honesty and guilt.
I have always been an emotional person. Not necessarily in a negative sense, but in the sense that, because of my feelings, I often wondered if a person could ever feel too much. Everything hurt too much. Everything meant too much. Is this how normal people felt? It certainly never seemed that way. Living in a home with a family quite the opposite of me, I was constantly critiqued for...

What happens if you fall in love with a writer?
sleepingtigers: Lots of things might happen. That’s the thing about writers. They’re unpredictable. They might bring you eggs in bed for breakfast, or they might all but ignore you for days. They might bring you eggs in bed at three in the morning. Or they might wake you up for sex at three in the morning. Or make love at four in the afternoon. They might not sleep at all. Or they might sleep...

You know what I would do for $1?
kataroo: Tag SOMEONE ELSE’S post. Wouldn’t it be great if you could pay a dollar and highlight someone’s post with a sticker that says “RACIST” or “HOMOPHOBE” or “I HATE WOMEN” or “NICE GUY? LOL” so everyone can see it? And then Tumblr could charge the OP TWO DOLLARS to remove the tag/sticker thing. BOOM. Money. I would pay for this.

I needed that.
I just got an e-mail congratulating me and my friends on a job well done on those letters we made for our now official first client. It feels so good to know that our time is valuable and that we might actually have a shot in this business.  Here’s to many more e-mails like that in the future.

Spring break in Vegas.
My parents just invited me and Chris along on their annual trip to Las Vegas for my spring break. I’m not exactly the “Vegas-type” — I don’t gamble, I’m not into drinking around my parents and I’m sure I’ll stick out like a sore thumb in my usual wardrobe — but I’m happy to go somewhere, and with Chris no less. We haven’t exactly...

Adventures in Capitalism: INTRODUCTION TO... →
adventuresincapitalism: In 2010, my parents, seizing a moment following severe health crises and the real-estate market collapse, purchased the condominium of their dreams. It is in the beautiful John’s Landing neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, right along the Willamette River. For the first time in about thirty years,… If anyone is interested in reading some poignant, honest writing,...
